Dyed film
Dyed film is often selected for appearance, basic glare reduction and a lower starting budget. The useful questions are the film’s construction, warranty and expected colour stability—not just the shade printed on the sample.
Carbon film
Carbon film can be a practical middle-ground option for a clean appearance and everyday comfort. Standard and upgraded carbon products are not identical, so compare their specifications and warranty terms.
Ceramic film
Ceramic film uses non-metallic particles and is commonly considered when heat comfort, glare control and signal compatibility matter. Product performance varies, so ask for the data sheet and test method rather than relying on the word “ceramic” alone.
What to compare
Look at VLT, total solar energy rejection, UV performance, reflectance, warranty and compatibility with the existing glass. A moderate shade with better performance can be more useful than the darkest basic film.
