Describe the discomfort first
Which rooms become hot, at what time, and on which side of the building? This information helps distinguish a glazing-related solar problem from other building conditions. Window film does not address every source of indoor heat.
Understand the specification
Compare the selected film’s solar performance and visible light transmission on the relevant glass. Infrared-only figures should not be confused with total solar performance. Product data should identify the test basis, and recommendations should account for the actual glazing.
A lighter appearance may be possible
Solar-control films are offered in different appearances. The balance between light, reflectivity and solar performance varies by product. View a sample and compare options before selecting a dark finish solely for comfort.
No automatic energy-saving promise
Energy outcomes depend on the building, climate, glazing, usage and heating or cooling. A generic percentage saving is not a reliable quote for your home or workplace. Confirm glass compatibility and the film specification first.
Check product-specific information
Use the actual manufacturer’s current data and application guidance. These official resources explain why product and glass selection matter.
