Why west-facing glass is difficult
Late-day sun can create strong heat and glare, particularly in living rooms, bedrooms and home offices. Curtains can help, but closing them also removes daylight and the outside view.
What film may help with
Residential film can be considered for solar control, glare, daytime privacy and reducing UV transmission. The outcome depends on the glass, frame, window direction, shading, room use and film specification.
Check the glass first
Tell the installer whether the window is single or double glazed, laminated or toughened, and whether there is existing film. Some glass assemblies need product compatibility checked before installation. Reflective privacy is also different in daylight and at night.
Send photos taken during the problem period, approximate window dimensions and the suburb. Perth Tint Co. can recommend a practical starting point rather than quoting from the room name alone.
