ASSESS EXISTING FILM BEFORE REPLACING IT
Show the old film in context
Send a wider photograph of the pane and close-ups of peeling, bubbles or damaged edges. Note whether the problem affects one window or several. An existing film’s colour does not establish its brand, construction or suitability for a replacement layer.
Include removal in the conversation
Ask for old-film removal and preparation to be addressed explicitly. Do not assume the cheapest replacement price includes that work. On a vehicle, rear demister lines and integrated equipment need particular care; condition and removal risks should be discussed before fitting.
Use replacement as a chance to review the goal
You may want a different result from the original installation. A room that needs privacy today may previously have been treated only for glare. Compare the current needs, glazing and available products rather than automatically matching the old shade.
What to include in your Middle Swan enquiry
- Close-up and wide photos of existing film
- Which panes need replacement
- Any demister lines, glass damage or unknown layers
The quote builder starts with your suburb already selected. Approximate information is fine at this stage; measurements, product suitability and the installation arrangements are confirmed before booking.
Questions before you choose
Can new film simply go over the old film?
Do not assume so. Existing layers and glass condition should be assessed and the preparation method confirmed for the selected replacement product.
Can one damaged vehicle window be replaced?
A single-window scope can be assessed. Matching the appearance of older film may be difficult, so discuss the available product and expected visual difference.
