A metal-containing layer is used within the film. Some ranges combine metal and dye. SunTek’s High Performance series is one example of a metal-dyed hybrid designed for solar performance and a more reflective appearance.
What should I check?
Ask about the selected product’s reflectance and compatibility with your vehicle’s electronics. A reflective look is not automatically appropriate for WA road use. The legal guide explains the separate reflectance restriction.
Is a hybrid always metalised?
No. “Hybrid” can describe different combinations. Some carbon ranges also use that name. Read the actual construction and product data rather than treating the word as a precise category.
